Community Financial Services Bank adds Givio to Digital Banking allowing customers to donate to all their favorite charities directly from their secure and convenient online banking portal

By: CFSB / 20 Mar 2023

Community Financial Services Bank (CFSB) has launched Givio, a Charitable Banking™ platform that enables CFSB customers to donate to all their favorite charities, schools and religious organizations, directly from their CFSB checking account. A banking industry first in KY, the addition of Givio to the CFSB digital banking experience allows their customers to simplify their charitable giving and easily track and download reports of all their charitable donations – a true time saver at tax time. The addition of Givio also enables CFSB to expand its community impact initiatives, and connect residents with local nonprofits, through Givio powered fundraising campaigns that they can share and promote community-wide.

Givio is safe and simple to use. CFSB customers can search for, find, bookmark, and easily donate to all their favorite nonprofit organizations. They can even explore CFSB curated cause categories that highlight local nonprofits in service of Education, Health, Youth and more. Givio makes it fast and easy for CFSB customers to make an immediate community impact, the moment the inspiration strikes.

"Givio is an incredible new addition to our digital banking, meaning our clients have a tool that is simple, safe and secure for all of their giving efforts," said Dana Howard, CFSB Vice President and Director of Marketing. "This creates a deeply meaningful experience for our clients and empowers them to join us in our effort to make our communities grow and thrive."

Givio launched on March 17 and is available to CFSB retail customers now. Customers can find Givio in the Marketplace portion of the CFSB Digital Banking platform.

"It's been a pleasure to partner with Givio to add another level of personal connection within our digital banking," said CFSB President, Jason Jones. "This new feature within the app allows us to provide a platform for nonprofits that they have never had before. We can create awareness and bring people together for a common good all in one space."

Coinciding with the launch of Givio, CFSB is promoting a community fundraiser for Family Scholar House, a free resource to support student and family success inside and outside the classroom. The mission of Family Scholar House is to end the cycle of poverty and transform communities by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-efficiency. CFSB has partnered with Family Scholar House to roll out community resource kiosks in the four public libraries in Marshall, Graves, McCracken, and Calloway counties.  These kiosks are a free resource for community members to access Family Scholar House's myky.info website and find free resources based on proximity. Three of the kiosks are available now in Marshall, Graves and McCracken, and Calloway will be available with the opening of the new Calloway County Public Library in mid-summer 2023.

"Community banks like CFSB set the example for what it means to truly care about the communities they're serving," said Gary Carr, Co-founder, and CEO of Givio. "By bringing Givio into their online banking experience, they're giving their customers an easier, faster, and safer way to make their donations to the organizations they care about while simultaneously providing their neighborhood nonprofits with a free platform to boost their fundraising and even expand their donor network."

"People love to donate to causes that are near and dear to their hearts," said Givio Chief Marketing Officer, Cindy McLaughlin. "Most people donate to several nonprofits, multiple times, every year. But this requires people to visit multiple websites, fill out long registration forms, remember passwords and use different payment methods. It's gotten very complicated. Tracking all those donations is even harder. And then there's the issue of spam and junk mail. Together, CFSB and Givio are giving donors a better experience," she said.

Givio offers donors a trustworthy donation experience because only vetted, IRS approved, tax-exempt 501c3 charities, schools, religious organizations, and Native American Nations are available in the Givio database. Givio and its sister organization, Givio Charitable Foundation manage the tax-receipting and disbursement process, freeing CFSB and benefitting nonprofits from some of the time-consuming donation administration.
