CFSB and Murray State Athletics Host First-Ever Drone Show in the Jackson Purchase

Community Financial Services Bank (CFSB), in partnership with Murray State Athletics, is proud to announce the overwhelming success of the first-ever Racer Drone Show held on April 17, 2026. The event marked a historic moment for both Murray State University and the Purchase Area of Western Kentucky, delivering a one-of-a-kind experience that brought the community together in celebration of local pride, tradition, and student-athlete excellence.

Originally scheduled for November 1, 2025, following the Homecoming football game at Murray State, the inaugural drone show was postponed due to weather. That delay only built anticipation across the region, making the April 17 debut even more meaningful as thousands gathered to experience what had been years in the making.

Following a full day of Racer Athletics, including a softball doubleheader with a hard-fought win, a baseball game that carried momentum into the evening before an eighth-inning power outage, and the start of the football spring scrimmage, the night concluded with a breathtaking drone show visible from Johnny Reagan Field, Stewart Stadium, and the CFSB Center. Historically large crowds filled the athletics complex, creating an electric atmosphere as synchronized drones lit the sky with dynamic imagery featuring CFSB branding, vintage Murray State University logos, patriotic tributes, a spotlight on Kentucky, and celebrations of Racer softball and baseball. For many, it was their first experience with drone technology of this magnitude, further reinforcing the event’s significance as the first of its kind in the Purchase Area.

Building on the success of this inaugural event, CFSB and Murray State Athletics are already looking ahead. The next drone show is scheduled for September 12, 2026, following the Family Weekend football game, promising another opportunity to bring the community together under the lights for an unforgettable experience.
